Our bike trip officially ended today as we said our goodbyes to everyone over breakfast. Jorge, Raoul and Nuno gave us a ride to the airport where we picked up our rental car and started our 3-hour drive to Seville. We had no problems along the way and found the apartment we're renting surprisingly easily. The only surprise was the second floor bedroom and bath accessible only via a narrow spiral staircase. (They omitted this detail from the VRBO description.) Suitcases are staying on the first floor for the next few days.
Tallest spiral staircase I've ever seen
By the time we got everything into the apartment and got ourselves settled in, it was close to 4:30. We hadn't had much to eat since breakfast so we wandered across the street to El Rinconcillo, a bar/restaurant established in 1670 and still a local favorite. Later, we found another neighborhood favorite, Bolas, for a late night ice cream.
Our mode of transportation for the next several days -
plenty of space for extra suitcases if Becky and I go on a
shopping spree

Is the van bringing back memories of shuttling us around to basketball, fencing, gymnastics, swim practice, etc?!
